NEW Benefits Summit
In collaboration with Delta Dental and MetLife, the CalHR Benefits Division hosted a Benefits Summit for state HR professionals for the 2026 Open Enrollment season. Attendees were able to:
- Hear directly from:
- Benefit carriers including ARAG, Delta Dental, MetLife, The Standard and VSP on the fundamentals of administering state employee benefits.
- The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS).
- Our new EAP vendor Spring Health and the new Wellness vendor Grokker.
- Network and speak directly with benefit carrier representatives.

Virtual Lunch & Learn Sessions
The 2026 Virtual Lunch and Learn session for HR Professionals was held on August 26, 2026.
The Virtual Lunch and Learn brought together the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR), the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) and the State Controller’s Office (SCO) to give you a comprehensive overview of what’s new and what you need to know for Open Enrollment.

Health Enrollment Self-Service for State Active Employees
Health benefits are provided through the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS). CalPERS has launched a new self-service feature for state active employees, allowing them to submit health enrollment changes and supporting documentation directly through their myCalPERS account.
