Retiree Long Term Disability Insurance

Important Eligibility Note

These benefits only apply if you are:

  • An active excluded employee, and
  • You choose to continue your coverage when you retire.

If you are already retired and did not continue these coverages, you cannot newly enroll.

Long-Term Disability (LTD) Insurance

  • LTD coverage ends at retirement
  • If you are already on an approved LTD claim when you retire, your benefits do not stop. However, the amount you receive may change. 

Accident Insurance and Critical Illness Insurance

  • If you are enrolled in these coverages while working, you may continue them after retirement.
  • You must contact The Standard within 31 days of retirement to keep your Accident and Critical Illness coverages.
  • If you miss this deadline, the coverages will end and cannot be restarted.
